Default Error Message installing Autocad 2000

I am attempting to install Autocad 2000 on my XP machine, and I get an error message saying that Autocad does not support this version of Windows.
I was told that there is a setting in Windows somewhere where this error message can be rectified. I would appreciate someone posting it here.
Thank you in advance,
Benjamin Alba

Default Acad 2000 on XP

Click start, run then find setup file on CD, RIGHT CLICK on setup file, select properties, then compatibility tab. Select windows 2000, then all the ok/open stuff till you get back to the run window and go. Before doing this make sure you remove and uninstall all ACAD 2000 files previously put on your computer during the initial failed installation.
