Flat Patterns
Does anyone know of a VBA program that creates a flat pattern from a 3D solid in autocad (not inventor)?

There are third party programs that will work with autocad to unfold a 3d solid, the I use is Striker System.

Need more info, but...
... if you just mean make a 2D drawing from a 3D drawing, there are numerous ways to do it within ACAD.

Give it a try
You can also try the SECTIONPLANE command if your using Auto cad 2007 or 2008. It will generate 2D blocks depending where you place your section plane on your model.
