Help needed in changing attribute property

Hi,
I needed to change the layer of an attribute inside a callout block. I opened the block editor, changed the layer, and then used attsync. The layer wouldn't change. I changed the block file and redefined it in the drawing and then ran attsync, but no luck. I ended up going to each block and changing the attribute property manually. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Use BATTMAN command to do that kind of simple change.
