V14 dxf

I have Acad V14 which was installed on my desktop about 15 years ago and I use it now in my retirement as a hobby. Recently I got involved and build a CNC router and I try to open some DXF files (simple design patterns) with my Acad but they don’t open. Says cant find file.

I can open the same files for viewing with eDrawings and also with Cambam. When I open these files with Cambam and save them in DFX format, then Acad can open them.

Any ideas why my ACAD can’t open these files

So Probably your ACAD is not compatible whit this file. Its create by a newer version of DXF file, if you have a newer AutoCAD at somewhere you can save as R12 or R14, than this should work fine on your version.
