Default constraining nightmare

in the picture below, two purple blocks in product 2 are constrained only with the offset in between them. I constrained the other two blocks (part 3's) to each purple block.

Now theoretically, you could create a parallel constraint on the top of the two white blocks, and straiten out the purple once.

BUT IT'S NOT WORKING THAT WAY.

what am I doing wrong.

I also attached a zip file with the blocks in question.

SPIDER007

First select Product two then use the Flexible/Rigid Sub-Assembly.Then apply your constrains to achieve your required results.

does that mean that i have to blow away all the relevent constraints and redo them with that thing on.
