Default 3d Sketch

Hi,
In a 3d Sketch is it possible to enter the coordinates and place the points directly, rather than having to create bunches of work planes and stuff...
Is it possible to just click "point" and enter X,Y&Z coordinates for a bunch of points, then connect the points with lines and stuff to make a curved tube and then use sweep to follow path. All I know is make sketches & work planes and axi with lines and stuff all over, then to attach the 3D sketch point and lines.
Any Suggestions.
