why dosent Radial pattern work ?

Hi all !!!!
How Exactly does radial pattern work? when im trying to do it exactly (by the book) from the ironcad 8 help im not able to get the radial pattern meny to work...
ther is no way to get a radial pattern.. the other patterns work fine... But the Radial pattern dialog dosent aper on any 1d handles and i cant finding it anywhere???
it dosen just happend

Its on the Triball, just click one of the centre three axes to lock it (the triball that is) and then drag with you right button anywhere inside the triball, and then upon letting go you will have several options , one of which is to create a radial pattern
