Default Sectioning a wireframe or quilted surfaces component?

Hi,
I want to know whether it is possible to take a section of a non-solid assembly component? When I attempt a section of a large assy, the imported non-solid does not appear, neither in the drawing view nor the 3-D environment. Is there a drawing options setting that can help with this?
Thanks in advance.

I do believe you will have to solidify that quilted component. There is nothing there to section.
If i'm incorrect let me know.
