Default Flatten Sheetmetal

Hello All,

new to solidworks. I have this shape in 1/4" plate that is rolled and has a arc in the shape. I would like to "flatten" but the commands are grayed out. Any tips on how I should proceed so as to create a "flat pattern"?

Ive attached the part in a zip......please help

Default Flattening the part

It looks like you first need to make it a sheet metal part.
Select the flat portion of your part, then pick the button "Insert Bends".
This will make it sheet metal, then you have the flattening options available.
Personally I think that something like "Convert To Sheet Metal" would be a better command, but this is what they have.

Remember to use a K-factor of about 0.50. This will make the flat the right length.
