Default Smart Subassemblies?

Hello,

Is it possible to create a subassembly that will update its parts based on its size, and have its size be driven by the space it is required to fill?
I want to make a door for kitchen cabinetry that is made up of a left, and right stile, a top and bottom rail, and a panel. I then want to be able to place it in the opening of a cabinet in such a way that it will increase or decrease in size as the cabinet is modified in size.
Also does anyone have a suggestion on a realy good book for learning SW2006? Not just the basics but the whole gambit.

Thank you,
Roland
