Default How to get rid of pixelation in reference plane?

I'm setting up my refernce planes with some pics and they are showing up very pixelated and not very clear at all. How do I get rid of that so the picture comes across clear? It isn't the self illumuination I already have that on and the pic/plane have been uv mapped and bitmap fitted. Any suggetions?

Go to customize > preferences > viewports > configure drivers, and make sure that you have set your texture sizes to the highest one and check the 'Match Bitmap size as closely as possible' box.
