Making swept cut on a solid block driven by a sinusoidal wave

I am required to create a sinusoidal wave on a surface of a solid block using Catia V5. Anyone with relevant information could please help me.

If I understand the assignment correctly, this is much easier than it sounds.

First, we need a sine curve, and the easiest way to get one is to make a Helix curve and then Project the curve onto a plane (2D sine curve).

Next, we can make a surface by using the Extrude surface command to sweep the sine curve.

Finally, make a Pad that extends through the surface, and Split the pad with the surface.
