Moving to TurboCAD

I am a 2D AutoCAD user who has just purchased TurboCAD Professional.

I am considering buying IMSI's books or CDs on learning to use TurboCAD and was wondering if anybody had an opinion on those products or those of other companies such as the courses from CAD Course.

I'm primarily 2D but would like to start doing mechanical stuff in 3D.

Thanks.

I wait until the next version which be a while.Ver.11.2 is more stable. They just release a patch not to along ago. Now it’s up to Ver12.1.It soaks up a lot memory and can render slow with large file with low end machine. It likes a 800 MHz processor. It not that much different than AC. It has no command bar. It does make nice photo real images. The PDF writer needs work a lot people have issues with it. The DWG. and DXF out put has problems. To my understanding its work in progress. Do not know if it will work with Windows Vista which may be release next year. See the web site below for review. When you are there click on some images to get a screen shot whats inside. If you re into solid modeling you may want to go to TC Pro. Rather than the TC Deluxe. You may want to consider an older Version. like 9.2 to start with it is cheaper than the new version so you have don’t big investment lost if don’t like it. Shop around Ebay and Amazon. Look in some search engines for cheaper versions. At one time I found it for $10.00 bucks. Check out TC official forum website to see how the pros do it. A lot these guys are real masters of there work. They do screw thread, bending, spirals, lofting, air foils, homes, and buildings, you name they come up with way in doing it. Here is a real master of his craft check out this site http://www.textualcreations.ca/.
Another route you can choose is to upgrade your AC to AC 2007 it might be less expensive. TC Pro. Around $900.00 bucks
