Flattening of 3d face

Hi all,

I have a part of which we want to mask one face using a cutted tape which would we want to lasercut. So we need the face in dxf. Is there an easy way in how i can get the red image with the exact dimensions needed to mask the surface with the arrow?

I know there is a special 'add on' to unfold things, but at work i don't have this package available.

Thanks for the help

The Developed Shapes product is the add-on I think you're referring to.

The part shown in your attachment looks like it's extruded, which makes the project much easier. Besides the Developed Shapes tools, you might be able to develop the flat pattern with the Sheetmetal tools. You could probably do it manually with the GSD workbench, without too much effort, and get pretty good results.
