Advance Meshing Tool question

Hej Evry body I have a question,I have been working with the advance meshing tools, the static analysis part.
After meshing a surface I want to edit the elements distribution, there are 4 ways to do this.

two of them are Arithmetic and Geometric, the question is what is the difference bewteen them

Arithmetic: the distance between the distributed nodes will be defined by a common difference
Geometric: the distance between the distributed nodes will be defined by a common ratio
