How cut solid by a surface?

New member
Hi,
I want to limit one solid (one extruded simple solid) by a surface. This surface is a boat hull, and it is a complicated surface. I want to design one tank limited by the hull, so if I could put one solid and then remove the with the hull surface then I would have the tank tailored to the
hull.
Any suggestions?

Hi Jimwxyz,
You can use "Combine" or "Trim" to get the required shape if you create the solid as surface. Depending on whether the tank is part of the hull or not you may have to use "Copy Geometry" or "Offset" from hull surface.

To cut any solid by a surface' use SOLIDIFY TOOL...........\

HERE IS THE WAY..
Select the surface by which u would like to cut the solid.. then edit -- solidify.., select remove material option from the dashboard..., Flip the side to remove,. click ok.. :)
