Linking excel to Autocad

Open your excel spreadsheet, copy to clipboard area of sheet you want in your cad drawing. Then switch to the autocad application and do an Edit - Paste special. In the dialogue box select "paste link", hit okay and place on drawing. It then is an linked OLE object and will update any changes you make to the excel spreadsheet.
CAUTION: Do not double click on the linked object in cad to edit - it will create a new file on your local drive and not be linked to the original file.
Hope this works for you.
