Flattened Surface Area

Hello,

I have a tapered surface (cone with the top cut off) and I am hoping to find a way to get a flat surface area representation of it through Unigraphics.

What I hope to do is cut a strip of pressure film out to be the exact dimensions so that I can fit it exactly around the taper.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
There is a mathematical solution to this problem and no solution exist in Nx.
Make taper cone in two parts from a piece of paper cut as follows.
1. Part one: length of smaller side is pi*r = radius of smaller side of cone
2. Part two: length of larger side is Pi*R = radius of bigger side of cone.
3. Cut a piece of paper from the above dimensions
4. Repeat steps one to three and cut another piece. now u have 2 pieces. Joined them.
