Rhino: texture printing

MicroNinja

Hello all,

I'm new to the site and pretty new to using Rhino, the question I have is.

I'm modelling objects to be printed on a 3D printer (STL file format), if I apply a texture format to the surface (yet to figure this out) will that texture be on the surface of the printed object or will the only appear in the render and the printed surface will smooth.

Thanks for you time and any suggestions on this.
