How to pass from assembly (CATIA Product) to .stl file

Hello,

I have created an assembly with different parts and now I need to create an .stl file to import it to another CAD program which only accepts this kind of file (doesn't read .igs nor .stp properly).

I have read in some forums that you just need to open a new part and then copy your different parts into it, creating this way a multibodied part. When I try to do so, an error message pops up telling "it is not allowed to paste".

I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about what you read in another forum, but here's how I would do it:

1. With your assembly open, use TOOLS + GENERATE CATPART FROM PRODUCT. This will copy all the part instances into a new, multi-bodied part file.

2. FILE + SAVE AS to save the multi-bodied part file as a .stl file.

Which other CAD program are you exporting this data to?
