Information Systems Engineer (CAD Competency Centre)

Would you like to work in our Product Lifecycle Management Competency Centre providing support for CAD? We currently have a vacancy for an Information Systems Engineer (CAD Competency Centre) at our site in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.

As an Information Systems Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the deployment and support of the CAD Toolset (Foran) to ensure that the systems and process work effectively and efficiently.

You will work with a network of specialist information systems engineers within the IM&T (Information Management and Technology) function.

Your main responsibilities as an Information Systems Engineer will involve:

Optimising the engineering design process by providing specialist front line problem solving, advice and guidance on the CAD applications deployed across the BAE Systems

Defining and delivering toolset procedures and best practices to BAE Systems to align technical efficiencies

Defining, delivering and maintaining key training materials and course content for specialist CAD applications

Your skills and qualifications as an Information Systems Engineer:


Possess a basic knowledge of CAD technologies currently utilised by BAE or equivalent computer system

Demonstrable understanding or experience of working in an IT support role with a range of complex deliverables

Demonstrable understanding of Engineering Design and Build processes


Have an understanding of CAD configuration, integration and interfaces would be ideal.

Ability to create and deliver Presentations / Training Material

Data modelling ability - experience producing technical Reports
