Catia to 3D pdf help

Hi guys, I literally just started self teaching catia yesterday. I am making 3D visual aids for masking parts at an aerospace finishing company. On some parts there can be multiple colors on different surfaces, so I go through and edit the properties changing each surface to its desired color before converting to a 3D pdf to set up in a visual aid format. However when the file converts into adobes 3d pdf viewer, some parts dont retain their color? any ideas as to why? or how to fix?
