iPhone-like surface problem

New member
Hi guys,

I'm trying to model a surface similar to the iPhone's back but I'm getting weird corners.

I've tried Rail Revolve, Sweep 1 and Sweep 2 but I'm having no luck. The profile curves is in the 12 o'clock position.

Does anyone know how to model this so that I get a smooth surface?

Hello Michael,

I would create a simple LOFT surface for that geometry. Look at the images attached. You have to use a point at the center of the upper profile curve to get the loft surface to be closed on the top. The option of the drop-down menu in the dialog must be set to "loose".
What curvature degree did you use for the fillets of your rail curves? Using G2 continuity would be crucial to get a smooth surface.

Best Regards, Stefan
