quick surface reconstruction: automatic surface

Hi,

Using the automatic surface generation to create a surface from a mesh, there is a parameter called Surface Detail that doesn't have units.

For default it gives me a surface detail of 500, the inferior limit is 50 and the superior limit depends of the number of points/triangles i have.

I need to know whats this this coefficient mean, is it a relation between other parameters?
