I am new to Rhino and 3D modeling in general. I designed a part in Rhino 4.0 that is approx. 12"W x 12"H x 1"D, and is fairly complex.
I have sent the 3dm file to several companies that do rapid prototyping, but they are all saying that they can't work with the file, because it's way too big (it's 78mb, even after using the "save small" and "save geometry only" options). They tell me that for a part of this size and complexity, the file should typically only be around 5mb.
I've tried exporting the file into other formats (such as IGES) but this only increases the size. Does anybody know what I might have done wrong, that would cause my file to be so huge?
