Stewart platform: How to perform a rigid bodies analysis

Hi everyone,

I’m a CATIA beginner (never touched it before Tuesday) and I’m trying to perform the following static force analysis on a Stewart platform I finished designing this morning:
  • Apply a downwards force on the top plate
  • Measure the reacting force in each cylinder

My Stewart platform. Somewhat wacky, but it moves well.

I’m not interested in stress analyses for the moment; this is just to figure out which forces need to be generated by the six linear actuators to counter a given load on the top plate.

The kinematics work out fine, but I’m struggling to figure out how to perform this simple analysis. I’ve found quite a bunch of tutorials dealing with stress simulation, but I can’t find anything dealing with this simple rigid bodies problem.
Does anyone know what I should do or know a tutorial on the matter?

Please let me know if I wasn't clear enough.
