surface modeling problem

i am trying to model a human knee joint in catia using ct scans by tracing the boundaries and layering them one over another at very less distance(.6mm).
Attached are two images of the model, one is the wireframe and the other is the final model i managed to make.
Problem is i am getting lot of ripples on the surface of the model.
I used some guides to multisection it.
Is there a better way to create a solid/surface model from a wireframe?

The edges alone don't have enough information to describe the complex shape of a knee joint. I would suggest taking the raw volumetric CT data, which should be 3 dimensional, and using an auto-surfacer to generate a surfacic/solid model.

Maybe a program like Geomagic Studio, you should research it, and if you get some good results let me know, I wonder too!
