What formats can CATIA export?

Hello,

I am looking to create some 3D animation using models created with CATIA. I am not sure what version they were created with. I would like to know what standard 3D file formats CATIA can export that software such as Blender, Maya, After Effects, and Photoshop can import so I can tell my client what they should give me. I do not own CATIA, so converting their data is the missing link.

Suggestions?

CATIA files can be exported in the standard CAD formats: IGES, STEP, dxf, etc.

Recommended for 3D Max: IGES for NURBS-surfaces, STL for polygonal

CATIA can record AVI files.
Under 'Tools > Image... >Video'

The recordings are not great. You may want to get TechSmith's Camtasia/SnagIt products for your needs. We use these products for making our documentation.
