Merging surfaces in to one single surface (please i need this quick)

i have only been using catia for about a year and i love it but i know this can be done in other software but cant seem to do it here:(

I am trying to accomodate a CAE person at our corprate office that needs a single surface in stead of several stitched serfaces (as is the result with join).

the problem is that when i write out an Iges file (the only file he will except ) it unstitches the surfaces in to several surfaces again. do i have an iges setting wrong becouse i set it up with our previous onsite CAE person? it would realy just be easier if i could truely "JOIN" the surfaces instead of stitching them, whitch is what the catia jouin comand seems to do?

Please help this is frustrating me and the the corprate Catia "GURU" says use the join comand which won't work like i need it to

two quick suggestions:

1: use the Federate All option with the JOIN (this requires a GSD2 license)

2. Use the OFFSET SURFACE with a distance of 0 to convert the JOIN into a surface

If neither of these satisfy the CAE guy, ISOLATE the Offset Surface and see it that makes him happy.

Thank you for the suggestions.

it appears that, untill my company will spring for a better licence of catia, this is beyond my abilities. oh well, they will need to give it to the ug guys at corp. to complete.

thanks again for all of the help.

i am very greatfull!!

Hi MrCATIA ! I have a problem with "Join tool" If i check "Check connexity"& "Simplify the result"&"Federation ALL"&"Mergin distance 0,1" IT TIPE :"Tangency Continuity The result is not continious in tangency "
