Bolded Mtext

Some Mtext in my drawing is displaying and printing as though bolded although no bolding has been applied. I have even tried to match the properties to no effect. When I move an existing (unbolded) block of text onto one of the effending entities has the effect of making the properly formatted entity acquire the bolding. Any suggestions?

I have seen this problem too. I found that it is the z value giving it this bold look. May be the z value for the text reads as 0 but if you force it, retype 0 in the properties you will see it return to normal.
