Dimensional data acquisition from real object for 3D CAD modelling

alibay

Newbie
Hi,

I need help in getting actual dimensions of real mechanical parts, which is to be modeled in 3D CAD software.

I have googled and found that there are many sophisticated data acquisition techniques from existing mechanical part, e.g using laser, Coordinate Measuring Machine, Optical/acoustic/magnetic measuring techniques and many more. However, I do not have access to any of these techniques.

Therefore, my question is that if there is any method that enables me measure the dimensions of mechanical parts.

Your help and suggestion are highly appreciated!
Thanks
