This is pretty easy to do.
1. create a drawing with the 2d views you want
2. saveas dxf or dwg's are smaller

The program I am trying to import into is a 3d program for animating human anatomy. The program says it can take DXF. Is there a 3d version of DXF?

No, dxf is 2d, you need to use IGES, STEP or STL for a polygon file. There are ways to transfer this info from mechanical to artist world through some translator, I'm not sure of the path, hopefully some else knows a path.

What is the program?

What is the name of the program that you are trying to import it into?
Also, what file formats can it open?

The Program is called Poser and I was told it can take BVH or DXF. I am not actually using the program an associate is taking care of that. I am taking care of the solidworks side.

OK I'll check into it further..

We have some Poser resources here on 3DCADTips.com. I'll look into it further. So you're saying that Poser only imports BVH and DXF and not IGES or STEP or STL? I'll post what I can dig up.

Poser 6 can import the following...

QuickTime (Mac only), TIFF, WAV
? Export

What file formats can you export with your version of SolidWorks?

Please let me know so we can try to map your interoperability path.

Thanks.

Jpg and Tiff really don't work for what we want because we want it in 3d.
