Hatch in a specific layer

Hi,
while hatching I want it to go to a specific layer, not in other layer. The same is while dimensioning. Any suggestions.

Hi,
Use the Make Object the Current Layer button provided by AutoCAD. It will be in the right of the layer pull down, next to layer previous. If you always use the same layer for each of hatch, dim, text, then a simple macro or a tool palette will work great. Set your layer for dims, make a dim on screen. Drag that dim to a tool palette. Any time you use that tool the layer you first used will be used.
