Is there a way to import a jpeg or other type of picture file directly to a .drw so that it will show up?

Also, I just joined the group. I have worked with Pro-E for 5+ years

I was able to do what I wanted. In order to have it show up on the drawing and still have the jpeg linked to the part, I took the following steps:

* created a dummy part that was the size of the part that I was taking the picture of.
* Applied the jpeg as a decal under colors and appearances.
* I had to manipulate the setting until it showed up properly.
* Once I had completed that, I was able to bring the part into the drawing with the side showing that I had applied decal to.
* The last trick was to change the setting to shaded in the view and it showed and stayed in the part as desired.
