Hello all. I'm hoping someone can offer a bit of help and advice on starting a career in 3D CAD.
I'm a 27 year old UK based Graphic Designer working exclusively in design for print. 5 years after graduating university, I've realised that the design for print industry is in very rapid decline and if I'm honest, so is my interest in the subject. I'm looking at other possible careers and 3D design is something that really interests me but it seems really difficult to find any information on industry standard software, training courses etc...
So my questions
1) What is the industry standard software? AutoCAD?
2) Is 3D CAD something I can teach myself from books/online resources or does it require College/University level training?
3) Is it easy to find work as a 3D CAD?
If anyone could find 5 mins to offer any insights into the industry, I would be very grateful.
Cheers
Dave
