Material Editor Nodes

Is there a way to create, adjust, and view my materials as nodes? For example, I want to be able to create one "stainless_steel" texture, then apply it to five different materials. I want to be able to tell each of thost five materials whether or not I want them to update if I make updates to the original "stainless_steel", or if I want them to become completely independent, or maybe I want them to become additive. Any suggestions?

With your right mouse button you can copy your texture and then when you will paste you decide if it will be an instance or not. Instance will update and if you don't want just paste as a copy, but you can't see it as nodes.
