Problem with profile rotation round ellipse

Hi,
I am new with CATIA. I have CATIA v5r12. I am researcher in optics and I don’t regularly design complex mechanical parts. I have one problem and I wonder if somebody can help me. I draw one profile and I want to rotate it round ellipse. I don’t know how to do it. With the command shaft I can rotate round sphere.
Sincerely
Darko Vasiljevic

Darko,

You can "sweep" the profile through the ellipse by using RIB in the Part Design workbench. Draw the profile in one sketch, and draw the ellipse (or any other curve) in a second sketch. It's easiest to position the two sketches relative to each other. Then you can make the RIB.

A GROOVE does the same thing, but it removes the profile material.
