Rendering a selection from a viewport?

Hi,
I know that it is possible to render a selection from a viewport, I am unable to find out how to do it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,
You can find a drop down list next to your render icon, where you can see "View", click it and select "Selected".
