Sketch-based features & Pad missing...?

Hi,

I'm new to Catia and trying to give me self an understanding of how to use it before I start a course in January.

I've been following guides on line, designing basic parts.

I'm following instructions to sketch a ring gear which I have used before.

I have sketched 2 circles, added constraints, exited sketcher and then when to hit the pad button but it was missing. So i through i'd do it the long way, as I have done in the past. I checked in inserts for sketch-based features but that also seems to be missing. In fact my whole insert selection is different to what I am seeing online. From images I have seen insert should look something like;

Insert -

Object (blanket out)
Body
-------------
Constraints
Sketcher
Axis System
-------------
SKETCH-BASED FEATURES ***
Dress-Up Features
Surfaced-Based Features
etc...etc...

OR (and I think this is how mine was originally)

Insert -

Object (blanket out)
Body
Body In a Set
Geometrical Set
Ordered Geometrical Set
-------------------
Insert new body (blanket out)
-------------------
Annotations
Constraints
Sketcher
Axis System
--------------------
SKETCH-BASED FEATURES

but mine reads

Insert-

Object (blanked out)
Body
Body inset
Ordered Geomtrical set
----------------
Sketcher
----------------
Axis System
----------------
wireframe
Law
Surfaces
Volumes
Operations
Advanced Operations
----------------
Constraints
Annotations
Views/Annotations Planes
Analysis
----------------
Advanced Replication Tools
Knowledge Templates
Instantiate From Document
Instantiate From Selection
Advanced Surfaces
Developed Shapes
----------------
BiW Templates

Any help would be greatly appreciated because i'm otherwise stuck and do not wish to look like a dummy when I start the course!!!!

Thanks

I think you're in the wrong workbench, since you have the Surface tools in your Insert menu. Use the START menu in the top toolbar and pick the PART DESIGN workbench.
