STEP-format exporting geometry.

Greeting everyone,

Recently I exported my solids into STEP-file format. It seems that STEP is triangular-oriented. Better to say that during export solids were approximated by triangular.

Is it possible to use any other element as basic instead of triangles? I mean cube, or cylinder?

Well, I can not use triangles as consuming application has problem with displaying geometry based on such representation.

Does anybody know any other software where such representation can be performed?
