Depends on what you plan on using CATIA/UG on the laptop. Small parts or assy's these laptops may be alright. But I wouldn't really want to load too much stuff on it or use it on a daily basis.

I've seen it run on less of a laptop, obvisously less stable.

I'd stay away from a 5400rpm hardrives and get at least 2GB of memory.
